S1 Voice Discovery & First Song Assessment
- Informal singing assessment — humming, speaking-to-singing exercises, natural vocal range, pitch matching
- Learner sings a Bollywood song of their choice
- Teacher identifies strengths and improvement areas: pitch, rhythm, breathing, pronunciation, confidence, vocal tension
S2 Pitch Matching Through Bollywood Melodies
- Matching individual notes on keyboard/tanpura/app — teacher sings, learner repeats
- Short 2-3 note melodic patterns followed by recognizable Bollywood phrases
- Hearing whether the voice goes above or below the intended pitch
- Suggested song: 'Iktara' (Wake Up Sid) — easy mukhda section only
S3 Breath & Singing Longer Phrases
- Relaxed inhalation, controlled exhalation, avoiding unnecessary breaths between words
- Holding comfortable vowel sounds: 'aa', 'ee', 'oo'
- Applying breathing to song phrases
- Suggested song: 'Kabira' (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani)
S4 Rhythm & Singing With a Track
- Singing along with instrumental/karaoke tracks
- Entering at the correct time and following the beat
- Recognizing musical gaps and not rushing lyrics
- Staying synchronized with accompaniment
- Suggested song: 'Love You Zindagi' (Dear Zindagi)
- Module Milestone: perform one verse/mukhda with a backing track
